How To Bond With Your Team And Improve Company Culture With Zero Budget
We’re a tightly knit group at ACPR, with nothing but love, crystals and a penchant for beauty products here! However, being a close team doesn’t just happen overnight. Allyson places an emphasis on company culture, and you can tell! We have fab holiday parties, enrichment opportunities, monthly mentoring sessions, a beautiful office, and more. But I get it. A lot of these are things only your manager can do. However, company culture is something everyone cares about. That’s why I’m sharing three easy tips to bring your team closer together, with no budget and no high level title involved!
A meme a day keeps the bad vibes away.
If you looked at our Instagram notifications, the majority of our interactions are tagging each other in various memes. Whether it’s Allyson’s obsession with her furkids, Caitlin’s love for the Real Housewives or even all of us joking about not coming in to work, it’s a fun way to stay connected outside the office. If you see something you know a colleague would appreciate, tag them! It’s a simple and easy way to connect outside of the office.
Win as a team.
Regardless of who the project involved, a win for anyone is a win for the whole team. There’s a standing tradition at ACPR that major press hits are celebrated with a can of champagne. We also mention those major press hits at the end the week and celebrate that someone’s #hustle paid off! If your team doesn’t meet frequently, reach out to someone who deserves an extra ‘Congrats’ for a job well done.
The colleagues that shop together, stay together.
Allyson is known for sending links to shoes and saying, “This reminds me of you.” It’s a simple gesture (that drains my bank account), but it really makes you feel that your personal style is noticed and appreciated. It’s also a fun five minute break to browse the latest Shopbop sale and share your amazing finds with your team. I can’t think of a better way to bond than over mutual love for a good deal?
Your company culture makes a huge difference in how you feel about coming to work each day. And if your team isn’t as close as you’d like, I have a feeling that my tips can help bring you all closer.
